AISI 430 Balls
Ball Bearing
Ferritic Stainless Steel, Corrosion Resistant & Magnetic
AISI 430 balls from Atlas Ball & Bearing are precision-engineered from ferritic stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance, good strength, and magnetic properties. These balls are ideal for applications where moderate corrosion resistance and durability are required without the need for higher-cost austenitic stainless steels.
Manufactured from high-quality AISI 430 stainless steel, these balls perform well in mildly corrosive environments and are commonly used in industrial, automotive, and domestic applications where reliability and cost-efficiency are important.

Why Choose AISI 430 Balls?
AISI 430 is a ferritic stainless steel known for its good corrosion resistance, magnetic properties, and moderate strength. It contains chromium but no nickel, making it a more cost-effective stainless option compared to austenitic grades like 304 or 316.
AISI 430 balls are well-suited to applications where exposure to moisture or mild corrosive environments occurs, while still maintaining strength and dimensional stability.
Key Benefits

Useful terms and definitions
Batch or Lot:
A defined quantity of balls manufactured under conditions presumed to be uniform and which is considered an entity.
Nominal Ball Diameter:
The diameter value that is used for the general identification of a ball size.
Single Ball Diameter:
The distance between two parallel planes tangential to the actual ball surface.
Diameter Tolerance per Batch:
The allowed difference between the smallest measured ball diameter and the largest ball diameter within the same batch or lot quantity.
Sphericity:
A measure of roundness expressed as the difference between the measured roundness of a ball and a theoretically perfectly round ball.
Surface Finish or Roughness:
A measure of the texture of a surface. It is quantified by the vertical deviations of the actual surface from its ideal form. If these deviations are large, the surface is rough; if they are small, the surface is smooth.
