HDPE Balls

Ball Bearing

High-Density, Durable, and Chemically Resistant

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) balls from Atlas Ball & Bearing are strong, lightweight plastic spheres offering excellent chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, and outstanding impact strength.

Their high density gives them superior durability compared to other polyethylene grades, making them ideal for valves, pumps, bearings, and float applications in harsh or corrosive environments.

Why Choose HDPE Balls?

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) is a versatile thermoplastic known for its balance of toughness, stability, and low friction. It combines chemical and corrosion resistance with impact strength and lightweight performance, making it an ideal choice for both industrial and fluid-handling systems.

Key Benefits

  • High density and strength — more rigid and durable than LDPE or polypropylene
  • Excellent chemical and corrosion resistance
  • Low water absorption for consistent performance in wet or submerged environments
  • Resistant to most acids, alkalis, and solvents
  • Lightweight, low-friction surface for smooth operation in mechanical systems
  • Cost-effective and long-lasting plastic solution

Manufacturing & Supply

We are capable of manufacturing and supplying loose HDPE balls in nearly every variation of grade, maintaining an extensive stock with sizes ranging from 0.2mm to 150mm in diameter.

Applications

Because of its toughness, chemical resistance, and low weight, HDPE balls are used across a wide range of industries, including:

  • Valves and pumps for corrosive or aqueous systems

  • Floatation devices and fluid level gauges

  • Bearings and rollers in non-metallic assemblies

  • Flowmeters and chemical dosing equipment

  • Medical, food processing, and water treatment systems

  • Spacers and insulators where electrical isolation and chemical inertness are important

HDPE balls perform reliably where metals or other plastics may corrode, absorb moisture, or deform.

Why Atlas Ball & Bearing?

  • UK-based supplier of precision-engineered HDPE and thermoplastic balls

  • High-density polyethylene materials sourced for strength and consistency

  • Custom diameters, tolerances, and grades available on request

  • Quality assurance and batch traceability on every order

  • Fast UK and international delivery

Useful terms and definitions

Batch or Lot:

A defined quantity of balls manufactured under conditions presumed to be uniform and which is considered an entity.

Nominal Ball Diameter:

The diameter value that is used for the general identification of a ball size.

Single Ball Diameter:

The distance between two parallel planes tangential to the actual ball surface.

Diameter Tolerance per Batch:

The allowed difference between the smallest measured ball diameter and the largest ball diameter within the same batch or lot quantity.

Sphericity:

A measure of roundness expressed as the difference between the measured roundness of a ball and a theoretically perfectly round ball.

Surface Finish or Roughness:

A measure of the texture of a surface. It is quantified by the vertical deviations of the actual surface from its ideal form. If these deviations are large, the surface is rough; if they are small, the surface is smooth.
