Glass-Filled Nylon Balls

Ball Bearing

High-Strength, Rigid & Dimensionally Stable

Glass-filled nylon balls from Atlas Ball & Bearing offer enhanced strength, stiffness, and dimensional stability compared to standard nylon. Reinforced with glass fibres, these precision glass-filled nylon balls are ideal for applications requiring improved load-bearing capability, reduced creep, and consistent performance under mechanical stress.

Manufactured from engineering-grade glass-reinforced polyamide, these balls provide excellent wear resistance, low deformation, and reliable performance in demanding industrial and mechanical environments.

Why Choose Glass-Filled Nylon Balls?

The addition of glass fibre reinforcement significantly improves nylon’s mechanical properties. Glass-filled nylon balls deliver higher stiffness, better dimensional control, and greater resistance to deformation under load, making them well suited for precision components exposed to continuous mechanical stress.

They retain many of nylon’s benefits, including wear resistance and chemical stability, while offering superior structural performance for demanding applications.

Key Benefits

  • Increased strength and stiffness versus standard nylon
  • Excellent dimensional stability and reduced creep
  • Improved load-bearing capability
  • Good wear and abrasion resistance
  • Stable performance under mechanical stress
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Electrically insulating properties
  • Suitable for precision and structural applications

Useful terms and definitions

Batch or Lot:

A defined quantity of balls manufactured under conditions presumed to be uniform and which is considered an entity.

Nominal Ball Diameter:

The diameter value that is used for the general identification of a ball size.

Single Ball Diameter:

The distance between two parallel planes tangential to the actual ball surface.

Diameter Tolerance per Batch:

The allowed difference between the smallest measured ball diameter and the largest ball diameter within the same batch or lot quantity.

Sphericity:

A measure of roundness expressed as the difference between the measured roundness of a ball and a theoretically perfectly round ball.

Surface Finish or Roughness:

A measure of the texture of a surface. It is quantified by the vertical deviations of the actual surface from its ideal form. If these deviations are large, the surface is rough; if they are small, the surface is smooth.
